Re: Comcast radio commercial Proof of Speed upgrades!

I was in Boston this week and heard the same ad. Hopefully, it comes to CT soon as well. I'm kinda surprised there's nothing online about it.

is it free? I got the impression there was going to be an increase in the bill as well. Also something that was mentioned in another thread, currently subscribers who want the 105 tier have to pay a mandatory $250 installation fee and a required technician to install. Will this now apply to the 50 tier customers being increased to the 105?

I think these upgrades only apply to the North East of the US as I have Blast and I'm still at 30MB/sec down and 8up.

None of us have received the upgrade yet (I live in the north east)

So then does that mean if I already have the 105/20 will my cost be cut in half? If those who are on 50Mbps are going to get boosted to 105 for the same price, I better get something?

You're not in the NE market, so doubtful. It looks like they're doing it compete with FiOS which is mostly concentrated in the NE region.

The original story was that 105 goes away and they get a reduction in price to the Extreme 50 pricing. So guess lots of people will be happy come soon.
