There is nothing wrong with being happy with the service you are getting. However, here is why I switched to prepaid. I'll use your numbers as an example. You probably paid about $200 for your iPhone on a 2-year contract. Here is the total cost of that contract:

$200+($118x24)=$3032

Here is what Straight Talk would costs you if you purchased an iPhone for $700:
$700+($45x24)=$1780

That is a savings of $1,252 over the course of two years. Keep in mind Straight Talk is also giving you their version of unlimited minutes/texts (they're not completely unlimited, but still pretty high limits) compared to your more limiting Version plan. In fact, you could probably reduce your home phone down to the bare minimum for 911 and your home alarm which typically costs around $20/month. This would save you another $1,080 over two years bringing your total savings to $2,860. To me that is significant.
