[Help Me] DIR-628 Access Control

Hello All,

I am trying to set up web filtering and access control on my DIR 628 D-link router with no luck.

What I have done so far:
1. Tools > Schedules
-- Created a schedule Facebook_Deny1 from 01:01 AM to 11:59 PM

2. Advanced > Website Filter
-- added www.facebook.com, facebook.com, www.andkon.com, andkon.com
-- DENY computers access to only these sites selected

3. Advanced > Access Control
-- Jack_FB_Deny
-- schedule Facebook_Deny1 (selected from drop down list)
-- used mac address to select four (4) machines
-- Block some access apply web filter

Save and reboot

No luck. All machines can still access the facebook page.

Any help is most appreciated. I need a method to control access to certain websites on my home network.

Dave

Have you set up reserved IP addresses for the devices you are trying to manage?

What HW version is this router?
What FW is currently loaded?

Bimmer,

Info follows:

- Each device has a reserved IP by MAC adress that the devices pulls via DHCP

- Hardware Version: A2
- Firmware Version: 1.13
-- Firmware date: 2008/10/01
-- Check now confirms " This firmware is the latest version."

Thank you for your assistance.

Dave

There is newer fw:

Firmware 1.25NA 12/28/2010
You could try that.
I would follow this proceedure when upgrading FW:

He should let us know if this unit is an NA or other unit....Thats a military address and thus his unit is probably an NA unit. He'll have to let us know.
