[Vista] Whats going on, Im not sure where to start?

performance

process's

specs

CPU
Two nights ago, I left my laptop on all night, a useual thing, when I woke up the next day, the screen was black and system was froze up. I had to literally unplug and take out the battery to turn this thing off, then it would not turn back on at all. After a couple hours, it turned back on but now run's really sluggish. Yesterday, I did a sys restore to 3 days prior of the incodent. It has not froze up again but it continues to run real sluggish. Imnot sure where to start, I have a post over in hardware but thought I might get some input here also.

Here are a couple pix to get started.

This is with IE 9 / 2 tab's / this page and Facebook ( home page )

Go to the processes tab and sort the columns by CPU.

IE is definitely the culprit. Run a malware scan lately?

no I haven't actually, I take it forgranted that it is running in the background that my system is safe. I will give it a full scan tonight though.

It's the minimum required. Memory is so cheap these days may as well upgrade it though. 2GB is nice, 4GB would be ideal.

Got it going again, it was actually a simple fix, a stick of ram fell out of its holster. 2 Gigs now, running pretty good now.

Memory doesn't simply fall out.
