 | 50/25 Package? Hi, i had a TWC rep stop by my house today. He offered me 50/25 internet plan with Digital TV that included DVR+HD receiver (2 room setup) ....for $84.99
I am currently at $49.99 for 30/5 Internet plan and with Directv and i am really shocked at the 50/25 speed, i had to call to confirm this and the customer service rep confirmed i am on scheduled to be installed a 50/25 + Digital Tv
Only down side? the phone rep told me i will be paying $114 Total instead of $84.99 that the Rep quoted me.
Btw i am in North Raleigh area in NC |

If you want a referral ask me. |

Btw i am in North Raleigh area in NC There is no 50/25 speed tier yet they just introduced bonding in NYC which means NC does not have it yet and the max any upstream channel in most TWC systems can do is 10-15Mbps not 25. I know that TWC North Texas is running 4 upstreams with 15Mbps payload each. |

Said it would roll out later this year in response to the competition from UVerse and Windstreams new bonded DSL service. Cant speak for other systems, but it is a go for Charlotte. |

| said by zaxcom:He told me it was a speed boost. I said for free? He said yes. That seems plausible based on the way 50/5 is priced. It's significantly more expensive than 30/5 in most markets, but only 40% faster, and only in the downstream direction. Wideband/Ultimate or whatever they want to call it really should have more upload to command the premium price. -- AT&T U-Hearse - RIP Unlimited Internet 1995-2011 Rethink Billable.

 | reply to super2007 If Ultimate goes to 50/25, I'll spring for the upgrade. Seeing as it took forever to get Wideband/Ultimate here in the first place, I'm guessing it'll be a while. |

TWC announced the first D3 wideband deployment in NY city in 2009? 2010? 2 years ain't that bad and certainly not forever |

UVerse and Windstream? TWC competition? Really? |

I would definitely welcome the added upstream and more downstream... please? Perhaps a 75/25? or even 100/25?
But to be realistic... which uverse competition was your TWC buddy talking about? I mean we are lucky that TWC decided to push D3 so hard considering that uverse is stuck (at this moment) in up-to 18 Mbps... I know, I know in djrobx's neighborhood they love uverse.
The max that uverse subs can get is up-to 24 Mbps and that is if they are not watching any TVs and if they are really, really close to the VRAD. The 24 Mbps tier is more likely to be a 12 Mbps.
There is a lengthy thread here »45 MB internet service which to me show signs of desperation and resignation of some uverse subscribers to the lack of recent uverse upgrades.
Anyway, I look at these TWC upstream channel bonding developments with great interest as the only reasonable explanation would be that TWC is considering adding upstream channel bonding to their arsenal and that is a very good thing indeed.
I just hope your inside information doen't turn out to be like the uverse thread above. |
