Wow I guess Send a fax does not work on Anveo. I just got my second email back from Anveo saying the fax failed due to "hangup" after its 3 attempts. Yet I can dial the fax number directly and I get the Fax tones right away.
The whole reason I trying Anveo is that the ability for faxes maybe 1 or 2 faxes a year when I need to do something that come up I have it but I guess I don't have it.

Ok got a response from Tech support saying
"FAILED Hangup means that the remote fax machine did not acknowledge the delivery of the fax, but the fax could have been actually delivered. I tested that fax number and was able to send 2 blank faxes without any issues. I suggest you try it again."

I hate maybe or maybe not type of answers. That is not acceptable for faxing in this day and age. And this is faxing from the web portal not from my fax machine to say there is an issue with the ATA or internet.
SO I lose 4 cents for every fax attempt which is really dialing out 3 times when it seen as failed. SO I done this attempt twice this morning and one more time. So by the end of this I am down 36 cents.
what is the saying fool me once shame on ......

This message is a general comment and not related to your particular case.

Anveo uses VOIP and not TDM. So even with T.38 fax over voip is still a challenge. There are TDM based services which you can use and they will have higher outgoing fax delivery rate than any voip based solution. They are obviously more expensive and likely to charge a monthly fee but it may be an acceptable option for some users.

Is there any possibility of implementing ECM? That should at least reduce the incidences of the remote fax machine not acknowledging delivery, when the fax is in fact delivered.

I realize this is much easier to say than to do!

if you have a fax machine and a ATA to connect it to, maybe try a DSL Filter hooked to the fax machine in reverse.

just plug the line side into the fax machine then connect the phone side to the ata. I been using a dsl filter on my fax and have about a 90%+ success rate so far with voip.ms .

My wife had me send 3 faxes of which 2 failed...via Anveo. So I manually called the 2 failed numbers, one never answered the other made fax noises. So I retried the one that appeared to be working at work, PSTN, HP Laser Fax, it failed. After calling the number again it makes fax tones and then a hangup tone which was causing it to fail on both.
