Regarding the MacPro - it seems to me that this machine can be updated every two years and remain viable.
I'm not the target audience, I migrated from MDD Dual G4 to the MacPro 2010, (4x 2.66GHz) and a new one next summer would be fine by me.
I guess I'm asking, are annual refreshes necessary for such a machine?

Certainly not for the professionals and or organizations that buy Mac Pro hardware. However, Apple neglecting this segment of the market is conspicuous. It’s a loud and clear message one way or the other but cryptic.

One thing I always considered puzzling was the omission of the 16GB iPod Touch. Initially I though Apple did this to remove some degree of parity with the now defunct Microsoft Zune. However, if that were the case then there would be no reason to continuing omitting the 16GB model.
