A Tour Of The Phoronix Office

From Phoronix by Michael Larabel:

As I am frequently asked about my unique monitor setup, brand preference on different computer peripherals and other questions about my personal hardware choices as it pertains to Linux, here's a tour of my Phoronix office for this weekend article. There's also some additional thoughts beyond what you will find in previously-published Phoronix reviews.

Lot of pics, too...

As ad laden as that site is I'm sure his setup is quite nice from the revenue.

As I am frequently asked about my unique networking consulting business, here are some examples from my extensive portfolio of the installations I have done over the years.

Beauty. They have that real 'lived in' look.

I keep forgetting because I receive zero ads due to my hosts file, Firefox Adblock Plus and Proxomitron. So I see no ads.

If a site carries numerous ads it's because the advertisers believe the site to have the traffic volume and market base that they want to target.

Some of them have that "died in" look too. Did you notice the dead rats in some of those boxes?

That's great and all, but I just can't support sites that use multiple pop-up ads and so forth, so I visit very very rarely. No other sites I visit have ads that bother me, this site is way over the top.

The 2 guys above look pretty healthy.

Is there an extra installation fee for the rats?

I think the rats come at no extra charge.

This one doesn't look too healthy to me.

Hmmm, never thought about using dead rats as heat sinks.

I blew a power amp one time. When I opened the case, there was one of those huge roaches that had managed to get itself across a couple of terminals. The roach was fried. The amp was easy to fix.
