Posiitve thing is at least it's not Katz... |

 | The only English history/resume I could find...

Prior to that, he was Assistant Deputy Minister of Cultural Affairs at Canadian Heritage, where his responsibilities included legislation, policies and programs relating to copyright, broadcasting, cultural industries and arts policy. Mr. Blais also held the positions of Assistant Deputy Minister of International and Intergovernmental Affairs at Canadian Heritage and Executive Director of Broadcasting at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

| reply to HiVolt said by HiVolt:Posiitve thing is at least it's not Katz... Strangely enough Katz had come out in favour of IISPs towards the end of KvF's reign (at least according to OpenMedia)
said by OpenMedia : But recent decisions, including those on usage-based billing and vertical integration, suggest that Katz has heard the pro-Internet community, and that he is now willing to put the public interest before that of telecom industry giants. He has continued to be considerate of Canadians into his current role as Acting Chairman. Based on this, we would be actually quite supportive of Katz continuing on as CRTC Chair in a more permanent capacity.

Honestly I don't know if this was just to get Clement off their asses at the time but him and Molnar have come up with some fairly telco-unfriendly opinions -- Everything in moderation... Including Moderation --Oscar Wilde |

| reply to AkFubar Blais looks like a career bureaucratic lawyer. Knows how to write and interpret law ... but certainly little telecoms knowledge. He may well be good at writing tighter regulations ... so we don't end up with so many confusing changes ... but I wouldn't clap here! |
