Teasip join:2001-05-14 Plano, TX | FiOS or TiVoHD drive? I've been noticing brief video/audio pauses on TNT while watching the NBA playoffs and don't recall having seen this on other channels. Is it the TNT feed on FiOS (others seeing it) or is it time to play with an SSD for the TiVo? I've got a 1TB drive in place but I'm no where near taking advantage of the added space. |

Why would you need an SSD in a TiVo? Even a 5400rpm drive is many, many times more than fast enough to handle many HD streams being read and written to the drive. Plus the TiVo is always writing to the hard drive 24/7 which is not what you want for an SSD that will be in a device like a TiVo. |

I've still got the original 160GB drive as well as the current 1TB drive that I could throw back in but I'd prefer not having to disconnect, take apart, reassemble, and hook back up if it weren't necessary (signal feed). |

I don't think an SSD will do much for a TiVo, although it might be quieter. I think people are overly paranoid about writing to SSDs, but still, this is not the best use for an expensive, low-capacity device. -- 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 |

 | reply to Teasip As alluded to by others.. Simply the problem you're trying to solve won't likely be fixed by an SSD (assuming you don't have an failing drive in the TiVo). As wmcbrine mentioned, it's likely an encoding artifact, or perhaps one of the many Series 3/FiOS issues which require Low Pass Filters and/or Attenuation. |

No one should be having to use filters with a TiVo at this point with FiOS. I appreciate the input from all. I'll presume for the moment that the issue is on the TNT/FiOS end. |

Noticed it multiple times on Rizzoli and Isles this week. Not specific to your equipment at all. |

I have been seeing this for weeks. IMG 1.9.1 seems to be slightly better than previous version, but not much. I have had Verizon Fios since the very begining and this has got to be one of the most annoying Bugs yet. Right up there with the, hit the "pause" button, only to see about a second and a half more video before it actually pauses! Although it seems that is quite a bit better since 1.9.1. |
