Re: Business-class SIP trunk providers?

We have used both Bandwidth.com and SimpleSignal for a couple of years. SimpleSignal has good telephone tech support and email support. Our DID's are from Level3 so they always seem to work well. However, we have lost caller ID name for about a week, which according to SS has something to do with Level3. Other than that, service has been good. 10 channels and 125 DID's.

Oh man this is getting stupid with voip.ms

I need to get out of there and fast.
I should have mentioned I'm in Canada, so any Canadian or Canada-Friendly providers would be best. Need to find something higher quality than these guys.

Anveo is looking like a nice alternative, although their website needs work. Can anyone comment on the quality or support quality?

You can try some Hosted PBX provider that offers SIP trunking as an additional benefit. Hosted PBX provides features like local numbers, caller ID, etc. Even the services are not too costly.

Anveo quality is top class and that also includes their support. This is my experience during the 18 months I have been a customer.

I am a very demanding voip user and it's not easy to satisfy me. However, Anveo has managed that difficult task.

what problem are you having with voip.ms... just curious because we use them as well, in the states

Runarounds with tech support, shitty sound quality (which is oddly spotty), termination issues (wrong codes sent for wrong conditions), CID issues constantly...

We are running on a 100meg fiber line as well and have ~10ms ping to their montreal server with ~2ms jitter at the absolute worst times. There's theoretically no reason for what we are seeing. Other voip providers such as vonage etc etc all go through with no issues.

voip.ms tends to shove it off on to the DID provider (ISP Telecom for our area), but they either won't play ball, or voip.ms refuses to kick them in the ass. I do feel that some of the problems lie with ISP Telecom, but I need a company that's going to put a foot up their ass and not just give me a runaround.

If I port my numbers to Anveo, I'm still stuck with ISP Telecom, but I feel the troubleshooting and general experience will be better. Also my sip trunks should handle better for outgoing I'm assuming.

I will grab an account with Anveo and run some testing shortly and see what happens.

Also as an addon, the un-expected downtimes that seem to randomly afflict the voip.ms servers is getting to be too much now. I'm constantly playing musical chairs and bouncing from one server to another trying to avoid outages.

Enough is enough.
