 | Business-class SIP trunk providers? I'm looking for SIP trunk providers for business users. Cost is not the primary metric here: Call quality and reliability are more important than saving a few bucks a month.
Competent phone tech support, ability to provide local numbers, pass through Caller ID, and update CNAM also trump price.
Advice? |

 | Their web site doesn't talk about SIP trunks, just hosted PBX. Do they offer trunks for self-hosters? |

Asked for docs on configuring FreePBX/Asterisk for their trunks and got pointed to information that didn't work, at all. Ended up having to figure it out myself. This after opening a support case and being told I'd get a call by 5:00 PM and instead got an email at 9:00 PM. |

They provide the backing infrastructure to a number of other VoIP companies, and offer a very complete set of reliable services.
I've used them since 2007/2008, and outside of a couple minor outages I have no complaints. |

 | reply to lorennerol Please keep us in the loop with the ones you pick.
We are with voip.ms and getting really sick of the shitty quality.
They are the wallmart of DIDs and SIP trunking I find.
Lots of stuff, good prices, but the quality might scare you. |

 | reply to lorennerol I built a system using bandwidth.com SIP trunking for our company of about 100 people a few years ago. Very pleased with their service, but keep in mind that the service will only be as good as your connectivity to the internet. Tried it initially on an Optimum Online business cable connection... the variable latency of that connection caused audio issues, etc that weren't Bandwidth.com's fault. We had limited choices in that building, so we had Bandwidth bring in a dedicated T1 for the phones that worked very well (although the T1 was costly). Last year we moved to a different building that had access to Lightpath service, and that has worked very well, too. |

 | said by TreeTopFlyer:You were able to use a single T1 for 100 people? Sure. We bought 8 SIP trunking channels from Bandwidth.com, and each channel uses about 90 kbps (for a total of about 720 kbps when all channels were in use, which seldom happened for us). There was plenty of bandwidth with the single T1... we could have added several more channels if need be.
The T1 was expensive, but it was our only viable option at the old location. Verizon FIOS was all around us and would have been a good (and much cheaper) solution... but try as we might Verizon insisted it wasn't available there. |
