| [Tablet] Still no ICS on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Well, it's pretty safe to bet that Samsung will never actually upgrade their Galaxy Tab 10.1 lineup to ICS.
Even the rumor mill has given up on it.
I guess I will have to jump ship and go somewhere else when I get another tablet. -- Ich habe kein Mitleid - Me You're a daisy if you do. - Doc Holliday And as always, have nice day. |

The rooted aokp has many problems. Unless one is willing to fiddle around all day its a hassle. |

» androidcommunity.com/samsung-gal···0120313/If you can't get an OTA ICS upgrade install your own. XDA Developers can help you with that. Here's a video about ICS on the 10.1 (youtube clip) SOON??? ASUS did it for existing Transformers as well as the Prime MONTHS ago.
And while have released a couple of updates since to address specific issue has been pretty rock solid out of the box.
Sammy maybe hoping people just get up and buy a new one? Do they even have a New ICS out there.... if so then really no excuse for not the older. They were Honeycomb and anything that can handle that can handle ICS. --

 | reply to mob It's a shame. Galaxy tab 10.1 deserves a ICS update, unless Samsung has a plan to launch a new version. |

The rooted aokp has many problems. Unless one is willing to fiddle around all day its a hassle. Well that is total BULL CRAP.... that at the moment ICS released to the ASUS Prime (originally planed for release but was delayed really only a month or so to get it right, Prime was released Honeycomb), it was also released to all existing Tranformer owners (and some since) It in no way hurt Transformer Primes, as the original were but for some refurbs were discontinued. Even those who grabbed the refurbs didn't really hurt sales.
Problem more likely is unlike ASUS, SAMSUNG doesn't have a significantly better product to offer yet. Or did not plan for the old to be done when next step introduced.
And again no one that just bought a Transformer is not goint to run out and buy a Prime unless they are gotta have the latest types... but lets keep them happy let them have ICS to, and they be a guaranteed happy happy customer then actually hardware getting long in the tooth.
And again the Prime people not ready to replace but the original Transformer buyer will be.... again smart marketing Samsung seems rather dumb about.
And ASUS flailed around with early illequipt netbooks for a long time... had a couple...(and when no one else was) but when they got to the Transformer with that experience BOY did they hit an INSTANT BULLSEYE!!!! and been running with them ever since. May even be outselling their WIN boxes and ordinary laptops now.
And were as ASUS has a legion of loyal customers now, Samsung holds to this no upgrading the old they will be LOOSING legions.
And the rooting and replace is OK for the computer savy but not MOST that could easily turn it into a useless brick, let alone if in first year you are discarding the warranty. --

And again doesn't really matter if they are no one that just bought a 10.1 is going to buy another for ICS or slight performance thing... the next, next generation, again just bought the new would not, but the first gen maybe IF YOU KEEP THEM HAPPY in the mean time like releasing ICS for the older capable models now before they are already starting to look elsewhere for next time...because this company just doesn't seem to give a crap. --
