quaker  is right. Though the ban prevented any more condensing units from being manufactured with R-22 refrigerant in them, the manufacturers used a loophole and started manufacturing "dry" condensing units with nitrogen in them. Of course, R-22 prices skyrocketed this year and will continue to do so. There is little benefit in sticking with an R-22 system. |

kudos:7 | I stand corrected then. My company only does geothermal and we stopped making R22 units several years ago. Our refrigeration loops are self contained within the unit usually so that's probably the difference why we completely stopped R22 production. |
