 | Any DSC alarm experts around? I replaced and brink bhs-3000 system that had 7 hard wired zone with a DSC PC1616 and RFk5500 system I pulled from my old house.
The DSC system was only setup to use 9 wireless door and window contacts not any of the hardwared zones. I now have 6 hardwaired zone but can't get it to recognize any of them. Anyone have any experience switching from wireless to wired? I would like to use the 6 hard wired zones and add a few of teh wireless sensors back starting at zone 7 or 8. |

 | I just dug through the manuals. Try this:
Delete the ESN out of the keypad: [*][8][<installer code>][804][<zone #>][000000]
Toggle Wireless off: [*][8][<installer code>][<100+zone, i.e. zone 1 is 101, zone 2 is 102, etc>][<set option 8 to off>]

 | reply to jsbaker You have resistors in the lines, not just contacts, right? |

 | reply to mackey Odd thing is I have gone in and looked at zones 1 through 6 and there is no esn #'s listed just 0's and option 8 is turned off in the zone attributes. If 8 is off then it does not see the wireless sensors and if it's on then it does see them. I am wondering if the wireless sensors are listed in higher zones and I just haven't found them yet. I am fine keeping the wireless sensors if I can get the wired stuff to work as I can use them and just change the names of a few if I can ever find which zone they are in.
No resistors inline. As I understand it for residential applications thney are not required and I have turned that option off in the system options. I have thought of adding them to see what happens though. The other odd thing is that's it's still looking for the wired motion detector that used to be connected to it.
I've thought of just unhooking the wired stuff since I have enough wireless sensors to cover what I need to but i'd need to add some wireless glass breaks since we can't use motion detectors. |

 | reply to jsbaker Also wanted to add all wired sensors are home run and are the only thing on each zone except for two of the glass breaks.
Each door sensor and two of the glass breaks are on their own zones (1-5) and the other two glass breaks are wired in series without a resistor on zone 6.
The hardwired zones were never used so they are probably not assigned to a partition which may be the problem but I think I tried this last night without success. |
