KoRnGtL15Premium join:2007-01-04 Grants Pass, OR 1 edit | No problem. Are you missing a rear chassis fan or something? You should still get one even though temps are fine. What make/model machine is it? Or is it custom? Curious... |

 | Do not go past 60 C on cpu temp for a long period of time you will you will shorten the life of it or even damage it. |

OlegBellsouth FastaccessPremium join:2003-12-08 Birmingham, AL kudos:2 | Yea i know about the max temps, but i am talking about ideal temps. |
|
chrisretusnRetiredPremium join:2007-08-13 Philippines kudos:1 | Well you asked if you were running too hot. KoRnGtL15, gave you that answer. I simple provide a reference to what is defined as hot.
Ideal temps, who's to say. Perhaps there has been a study on ideal temps for CPU's.
My AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor is running at 34°C right now, when it's folding it runs close to 60C. It that too hot, nope. If I get close to 65 or so, I stop folding, shutdown my computer and clean it. That usually does the trick. -- Chris Living in Paradise!! |

 | reply to Oleg My machine runs around mid 30's sitting still and mid 40's while running BF3/Skyrim. |

Were I live heat is an issue. Only aircon in the house is in our bed room. Case fans help a lot. Moves all that hot air out of the box. -- Chris Living in Paradise!! |

OlegBellsouth FastaccessPremium join:2003-12-08 Birmingham, AL kudos:2 | I have a very small room, and we only run aircon. for 20 minutes a day to save on power bill cost. I do not know why, but if my CPU goes over 40C it's worries me even when i know i am still in the safe zone. |
|
chrisretusnRetiredPremium join:2007-08-13 Philippines kudos:1 | I can sure understand that. My machines when I am folding run at 50+, close to 60. A couple of months ago I stopped folding for awhile, because of the heat and also to reassess my electric bill. I clean my CPU about once a quarter. Mostly just blow the dust out. Makes a big difference. -- Chris Living in Paradise!! |
