Do you think my AMD Athlon II X2 250 CPU running too hot?
The BIOS shows about the same readings.

No problem. Are you missing a rear chassis fan or something? You should still get one even though temps are fine. What make/model machine is it? Or is it custom? Curious...

That is correct. It is a custom build PC.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M68MT-D3
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 4GB (2 x 2GB)

Do not go past 60 C on cpu temp for a long period of time you will you will shorten the life of it or even damage it.

From the manufacturer:
»products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCP···5=&f6=&f

If not the correct model, look here:
»products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUResult.aspx

This is another reference I use.

Well you asked if you were running too hot. KoRnGtL15, gave you that answer. I simple provide a reference to what is defined as hot.

Ideal temps, who's to say. Perhaps there has been a study on ideal temps for CPU's.

My AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor is running at 34°C right now, when it's folding it runs close to 60C. It that too hot, nope. If I get close to 65 or so, I stop folding, shutdown my computer and clean it. That usually does the trick.

There's no way to really evaluate your temps without knowing your ambient temp, too. 38C in many places IS ambient after all.

You right. I have not asked what ideal temps should be like.

Looks like adding a case fan helps a lot. Now my system running at 30-33C.

That's cool....

Were I live heat is an issue. Only aircon in the house is in our bed room. Case fans help a lot. Moves all that hot air out of the box.

I have a very small room, and we only run aircon. for 20 minutes a day to save on power bill cost. I do not know why, but if my CPU goes over 40C it's worries me even when i know i am still in the safe zone.

I can sure understand that. My machines when I am folding run at 50+, close to 60. A couple of months ago I stopped folding for awhile, because of the heat and also to reassess my electric bill. I clean my CPU about once a quarter. Mostly just blow the dust out. Makes a big difference.
