[Wireless] Will The Linksys E4200v2 Do This Job Alone?

I currently live in a one-bedroom apartment, and my Linksys E4200v2 easily covers all of my wireless clients, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

I am moving to a house in a about a month. The House is only 900 Square Feet with 2 bedrooms. It is one-story, and my E4200V2 will be on a desk in the living room.

Should it be able to cover, dual-band, both of the bedrooms? That's where the wireless clients will be. If not, what would I need to do it? Thanks.

Anyone telling you "yes" or "no" must be really good a BS or seeing the future.... Nobody can answer that question except you, when you try it.

We have no idea the construction and placement of materials in the home; metal studs, I beams, brick, where the fireplace is, where metal duct work is, where the microwave is, what channels the neighbors are on, if there's some wireless ISP in the area who's backhaul between two water towers goes right through your living room, etc, etc...

Put the router in as center of the house as you can - then walk around with your laptop running inSSIDer or similar, then keep track of where the weak spots are - either don't go to those weak spots with your wireless toys, or purchase additional access points/repeaters.

Thanks. I know I have to try it to see if it covers the house. I guess that my question was whether or not it 'should' cover 900 square feet, assuming there would be little or no interference by the things you mentioned.

The question was probably premature. I won't know until I try it, as you stated.

mozerd is as correct as one can be short of having unexpected/unusual interference.

900 square feet, all on one level should be ridiculously easy to have good coverage throughout. In my 1050 square foot apartment, there is not one inch of the place that I don't get strong signal coverage in either 2.4ghz or 5ghz bands with a Linksys EA4500, which is essentially the same router.
