Re: Clearing my Gmail email account? Well yeah as long as they never use it, as soon as they do it will be populated, by the current server contents of their account or at least any mail they have sent and not deleted from the sent box.
Still seems to me if the concern is device loss/theft privacy... then other than removing GMail entirely, a pattern screen/device lock is the best overall simple solution and protect all their other data on there too.
Unlike a PIN type lock you have to type every time, a pattern lock is just like signing an initial just takes an effortless second, and is very secure.
