I'd wondered about using bleach as a chlorine maintainer, nice to see that can work (but I assumed I'd use the more concentrated stuff with the initial fill, would likely be a LOT of gallon jugs!). Costco sells multi-gallon boxes of plain laundry bleach with free shipping so doing that was my intention. But maybe even the first fill could be done with bleach, I'll give the Pool School link a bit more reading.
As for this copper/titanium alternative, I've never heard of that. How does it work? What are the costs involved? I'm sure the electrode gizmo and controller have first costs, but what about operating costs? What gets "used up" as it runs (besides electricity, which they claim is reduced because of some reduction in "pumping," by which I guess they mean less need to run the filter, but that seems to reduce the amount of water that would run past the electrode thing).
Anyway, workablob, could you explain a little more what's involved? That website isn't at all clear on the "how it works" and "what you need" stuff.
