deadzonedPremium join:2005-04-13 Baton Rouge, LA | 4G + Caps I was forced into 4G with at&t because I wanted the Lumia 900. All the fast connection does for me is make me come closer to hitting my 3gb cap that I pay 30 dollars a month for.
I have to say, speeds have been impressive for me. Alarmingly so as the faster speeds have allowed me to utilize my phone much more in ways that use data. Which I guess is the whole point of low data caps and high pricing. What we have to pay for data is ridiculous.
3G was and still is mostly unusable for any type of real data usage at least in my opinion.
Looking at at&t's map shows they don't even have deployment in Louisiana which just goes to show you how bad 3G is since it appears I am using 4G lite. |

| I'm with you on the whole "better data makes me use more" argument. I've used 1.5GB in ten days on my LTE (VZW) iPad. When you've got what feels like a wired connection in any major city, you have to be careful not to watch multiple videos in a row...because they'll work perfectly and you won't realize you're using a ton of data until it's too late! |

| When I first got my new iPad with AT&T LTE, I blew through 2GB in 4 days showing off LTE. AT&T is really fast here in KC. I just hope it stays this fast once Apple releases their LTE phone... »i.imgur.com/wL93D.jpg -- My Internetz: Surewest 50/5, CenturyLink 10/896, AT&T U-verse 18/1.5, Sprint 4G Hotspot Computer: i7 2600k@4.5GHz, GA-P67a-UD7-B3, 16GB DDR3, GTX 580 and GTX 260, Corsair 750W, Antec 1200 |

| reply to iansltx The same thing happened to me. When I only had 3G CDMA service for 8 months with and LTE device which I used 2-3 GB a month on and once they flipped on the switch my usage has jumped to 7-10 GB a month and that wasn't just the first month either, I've had it since febuary. I still have unlimited LTE and I plan on riding that out as long as I can, forgoing a subsidized upgrade and buying a phone retail or off ebay is a hell of a lot cheaper than paying $80 for their 10GB plan, which I'd need based on my current usage, I can buy a retail phone every year and still come out even compared to what I'd be paying on the 10GB plan and not have to worry about going over that limit. |
