Was talking to Comcast retentions today to get a better rate as DirecTV is offering a much better deal. Problem is is I don't want to give up my TiVo boxes with lifetime subs on each. I did threaten to go to DirecTV and they agreed to shave $20 off of my bill for the next 12 months. They offered me phone but I told them that I had Verizon Landline because of the alarm system and the fact we lost CDV and Cell during the October Snowstorm and I heard Verizon Landline customers had service as long as the lines were not disrupted.

I also am getting rid of that third cable box that sat on top of my TiVo for On Demand.

There are some rumors that TiVo is going to support OnDemand according to the rep I talked to.

I wouldn't want to switch either, if I paid that much for hardware.

I bought lifetime TiVo subs back in the standard def days, and got my money's worth out of them, but there's no way in hell I'd spend that much on a DVR now.

I've used TWC's DVR (which is still Comcast iGuide in our neck of Los Angeles), AT&T U-verse (Microsoft MediaRoom) and DirecTV's DVR. TWC's is the only one that's bad enough that would prompt me to fork money over for TiVo. Both the AT&T DVR and my current DirecTV DVR work very nicely for my purposes.

For some reason cable companies have a rough time making decent set top software. I do wonder what happened to the Comcast+Motorola TiVo. I hope this works out for Comcast.

DirecTV, after many years, has finally started offering integrated TiVo units again. Judging from the DBSTalk forums, most people see little point in spending an extra premium for it.

Sanfrancisco has the Comcast on demand enabled now. It been available for about month or a little longer. Have not heard any thing bad about yet.

You can transfer that lifetime sub to a new Tivo-HD. That's what I did.
