 | what kind of speed should I get with these line stats? just moved recently, signed up for verizon dsl at my new place, when the service was first activated I was syncing at 1792 Kbps down, and everything worked fine, recently I have been "optimized" down to 1504 Kbps, these are my line stats, what kind of speed should I be getting?

Its designed to check the line continuously for about a week after SRD an tweak the connection to give you the best (optimized) service.
WHENEVER I come across this in the field, I always have the optimizer turned off! I would prefer to get/give my customer a clean line at the full bitrate they purchased! |

WHENEVER I come across this in the field, I always have the optimizer turned off! I would prefer to get/give my customer a clean line at the full bitrate they purchased! Agreed. I take care of a business's DSL connection in North Tonawanda. The optimizer was playing around with the line for about a week, setting it between 1504/448, 1792/448 and 2112/640kbps and it basically settled for 1.5Mbps. Recently I had that line manually set to 2528/640 and it performs much better at the slightly higher speed than it did at 1.5Mbps. The line's a good 3 Mile haul all the way back to the CO as well so Verizon I bet ya would normally not set it that high. It's been stable, that's for sure, even after a big thunderstorm crashed through the area. |

 | reply to mikeva434 thanks, yeah I didn't think the line would handle the full 3 MB because I'm too far out, but seems it could go a little higher than it is, especially since it was working fine at 1792 Kbps, and I did ask in the verizon direct forum, basically their response was "you are provisioned at 1.5 MB, so we can't/won't help you, deal with it" lol .. |
