Disconnect from Xbox Live

My internet never fully cuts out. I will be playing on online game, and the game have perfect connection, but then for some reason it will start lagging REALLY bad for about 5-8 seconds, and then it will go back to normal. It will do this at least 2 times a minute until I lag completely out of the game, but it won't kick me off of Xbox Live. I don't understand why my internet can't keep a constant stream of internet to my console. The lag happens on every game I play, but I mostly only disconnect from Nba 2k12. As annoying as the DCs are the lag is even more unbearable because it happens on every game I play.

What modem are you using? The F@st 1704 or the sagemcom 4300?

Also are you using a Router?what kind?Is your modem bridged?

Are you hardwired or using wireless?

More info is needed to help you with your situation.

Also go to Ping test.net and run a latency test and post it here.

Im running wireless, and the router is some apple router, and I don't know what modem I am using, its at least 5 years old though

Windstream has been having hardware issues since January 2012. My connection is stable through out the day, but absolutely terrible after 7-8PM every day. I was told that they were upgrading hardware that wouldn't be installed until sometime in September.

Maybe it's the same thing but effecting you differently?

Try changing wireless channels, use 1 6 or 11. if possible try and play while plugged with an Ethernet cable.

I forgot to mention that I have tried both ethernet cables and wireless, the problem persists on both.
