 | reply to openbox9 That's sorta like paying the bully that beats you up everyday because he protects you from other bullies. You are better off not paying anyone and getting your butt kicked all the time or fight back but at least you'd have your money!
If I were a Verizon customer, i'd surely make a nice return on my investment only to faster and faster give it back to them. |

You don't have to invest "that much money". |

elios join:2005-11-15 Springfield, MO | reply to openbox9 you cant grow 100% every year at some point your going hit a wall and you can raise rates for ever ether at some point people will go else where or do with out wile the short term may pay out your going to kill the company in the long run
FiOS was a long run plan the current CEO cant see past 5 years
at one point in time stocks were seen as long term investments (20 to 40 years) not turning a buck at the end of the quarter |

Sound investments can still be longterm holds, however as more info becomes more and more available for investors, the companies must be more productive. Gone are the days of "buy and hold". |

 openbox9Premium join:2004-01-26 japan kudos:2 | reply to SHoTTa35 That's a bad analogy.
I invest for my family and my retirement. VZ is a relatively small portion of my portfolio. I pay for VZ cellphone and Internet access because I need them for work. There are no bullies or "insurance policies" involved. |
