| The beginning of the end... Today Blizzard announced that a new feature will be rolled out on the next update of the current Beta testing for it's upcoming expansion to the World of Warcraft online game; Mists of Panderia.
The new feature tenatively dubbed Ethereal Character Transcognition Replication will allow any character at the current level cap to change his or her character's class for a fee (yet to be determined).
After paying the appropriate NPC the fee the player will see a scroll down list of the availabe classes to transcognify into, and again this would be any class but the current class.
For example, Targionan the level 85 Enhancement Shaman decides he wants to try tanking out so he goes to the NPC and pays the fee, he sees the list and selects Paladin protection spec. His current gear is changed to iLevel equivalent gear appropriate to the spec and he now gets to try his hand at tanking. Gems, transmorgrifications and enchants will be lost during the change but otherwise the change will have no other effect.
Blizzard stated at the announcement " We have learned that players want to have options and choices in this game, and after trying out the the appointment of spec appropriate gear and talent choices for players returning to World of Warcraft with Scroll of Resurection we are finally able to offer the players another choice in their gaming needs" stated William Murphy lead project design implementation coordinator for this expansion.

If that comes, I don't think it will be FREE or GOLD involved but real money, like name, transfer and faction change is right now..
We aren't also far from a level 80/85/90 premade character for money (without the hassle of leveling from 1) |

The death of WoW will be hacking. As soon as Blizz loses the ability to keep it in check and item duping is all too common, WoW will be on the downward path to it's doom. The OP's "feature" will never happen.

| oh, I dont hold anything againt you Snuff, I always enjoy your posts.
Im just saying I dont think it's necessarily bad just inevitable. I think Blizzard will continue to implement changes that will make things easier for the casual (progressive debuffing of current content, LFR, name change/race/faction change, Horde/Ally on same server, server changes, real ID, and now Black Market)...not that any of those are bad just the direction of the game.....and yes I do believe class changes will happen in one form or another in the future.

Yes, cross faction AH has existed (Gadz/BB/Winterspring, etc) for a long time. |

Not really caring if you change your opinion or not, class change is not an option now, thinking it will NEVER happen lacks a bit of insight or hindsight for that matter.
