If you read the entire thread you will see that I posted the situation on the Telus side of things... it's not at all a case of pushing profits further.

For the Shaw side, I'm still looking into it but the same logic was applied... none of it was intended to gouge.

Intended as a gouge or simply business, removing someones package and forcing them to pay $13 more or drop down to a tiny usage package (without providing a way to monitor usage) hurts.

I come from working for a similar company to TekSavvy;I get that the telecoms are trying to screw you and the profit margin is razor thin. But with the insanely high setup cost ($100 + modem)... well its enough to make people angry over.
