Second, did you look at the link I posted? The Supreme Court of Canada stated it's illegal. Bell wanted it that way, and got their way.

Oh yeah and what great teeth that law has that every single highrise building in Toronto has like a million satellites on their balconies, from arab, to spanish, to punjabi, to chinese incoming signals from said countries. Good luck getting law enforcement to enforce that one.

BTW, in any event I get charged I will go with the Charter of Freedom and Rights. No government and no individual can prevent me from watching broadcast material from other countries, I don't live in North Korea.

They can stop you. You want to live in Canada you obey the laws of the land if not go some place else.

So if you go 51Km/h in a 50Km/h zone does that mean that you are not obeying the law and you will go some place else ?

You've never driven 1 Km/h over the limit then right ?

Really, that's the best argument you can come with? Comparing the legalities of picking up foreign satellite broadcast to speeding by 1 kilometer?

One is knowingly going to the foreign country, dropping money down on equipment, bringing it back across the boarding, knowingly mounting it...all the while knowing the legalities behind it.

The other could correlate to errors in the electronics causing for the slightly error in speed. Unlike the greedy incumbents with their pissass incorrect meters gouging us UBB, most police allow for error just for that reason...mis-calibration in the equipment. Unless they're purely just assholes.

And for what it's worth, if you go 200km in a 50 zone...guess what, you will be going some place else...jail.

Silliest comment I have seen in a while.

Just because doing something is technically illegal, does not mean the action is immoral.

Canadian telecom companies continue to RIP OFF the consumer with little accountability.

All's fair when the consumer steps up to fight back where their elected government refuses to.
