aryobaPremium,MVM join:2002-08-22 kudos:3 | If you have another Cisco 1811, you can keep the broken one as parts. Other than that, I don't see much use of it unfortunately |

You could sell it on E-bay for parts, but likely aren't going to get much for it. |

 | Router uptime is 1 week, 1 day, 10 hours, 42 minutes System returned to ROM by reload at 00:54:27 EEST Fri May 18 2012 System image file is "flash:c181x-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T.bin"
I just want to show that the router do not overheat in any way with case open and fan removed..I still think that in some way there is a bug or the shorted circuit on the pcb do makes that HWmon thinks that the CPU will overheats and actually is not.. If i put the case and still no fan it may overheat.. |

 | reply to badsykes1 Only other temp related command the 1811 may have is 'show env ?' badsykes. Unfortunately for the ISR platforms, doesn't look like they have much in the way of actual temperature monitoring like the higher end 6500s have.
I may have to crack open one of my spare 1811s as well... if it's a straight 3prong plug for the fan, I should think you could grab and mod one from your local computer parts store.

 | This was the mistake i made...I bought a 19db 40mm fan made by recom and i tried to mod it to fit the inversed pins but instead i shorted the pcb.
»1811w JACKASS mod - more memory for cheap $, less fan noise.
this thread should show you what you need to do |
