I have been sitting on the fence for a long time over this matter, not so much the YouTube issue but the apparent bad latency that goes with this kind of broadband service, but on the flip side Uverse or even going back to the days I have had ATT yahoo DSL, they have been rock solid, rarely ever any downtime's what so ever with ATT, but with my Charter experiences going back about 6 years ago since I last used them, I would have massive down times and creepy crawly bandwidth speeds, it was so unbearable I had to cancel charter and downgrade my speeds to use ATT/yahoo DSL. its was slow, about 6m/768k but it never hiccuped once and the pings were almost allays below 20ms. so it would be a crap shoot, purchasing a modem and see how it plays out. worse case will be more headaches and a modem I would have to pawn off, if charters service to my house would be a fail? |
