I just updated mine manually the other day, got tired of waiting for Verizon, I did it with my stock unrooted Verizon to update 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 build IMM76K.

Things I've noticed so far:
-MUCH stronger signal
-Connects to 4G in more places and less bouncing between
-No more connection dropouts
-Battery seems to last longer
-Some things with camera seem to be fixed and it launches faster
-Misc visual changes in some things

I used this method.. »strifejester.wordpress.com/2012/···y-nexus/

Glad to see there are improvements. They were supposedly to have released 4.0.5 in April.

I got the 4.0.4 OTA update weeks ago. The carriers must be adding more bloatware to their phones before releasing it.

That's definitely not an official build you got in the screenshot, your phone is rooted? The kernel version, build number and @ubuntu are all not stock values.

As noted, that is not an official update.

That looks like a TeamGummy release for the Maguro HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus with iMoseyOn's leanKernel.

Perfectly fine if you ask me. 4.0.4 AOSP source code has been available for weeks now and many ROM teams including TeamGummy and TeamLiquid have been producing third-party ROMs based on 4.0.4 for quite awhile.

If you ask me, if you have a Galaxy Nexus and you know what you're doing, you'd be a fool if you were running stock. Get that bootloader unlocked and flash some third-party goodness! The third-party ROMs are great and the development scene for the phone is very alive.

I received a notification from Google that an Official Update was available but I was unable to install it because I was rooted and modded. So I returned the phone to stock with 4.0.2 and DLed and installed the 4.0.4 update and rerooted and remodded.

If the source code for 4.0.5 goes AOSP, then the third-party ROM developers will get ROMs based on 4.0.5 out soon enough.

According to the "gossip" that is what they are supposed to do, bypassing 4.0.4.

We were talking about a VZW OTA, not custom ROMs. I've been running 4.0.4 (AOKP) for quite some time now. For people who don't want to root or manually install a leaked OTA, they're still on 4.0.2 for the foreseeable future.

That was the rumor prior to the 2nd (different) leaked 4.0.4 OTA. If the soak test is going to be followed by a pushed OTA, it's going to be 4.0.4.

Either way, it's pretty sad that it's been nearly 5 months without an OTA on a Nexus.

Like yourself in running a third-party ROM, I've been running LiquidSmooth v1.35 and iMoseyOn's leanKernel on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Been running great for awhile and have been enjoying the pure Google experience.

This is the way Android was meant to be experienced! I love it!
