I want another kitty!

Maine Coon Cat

These cats cost hundreds of dollars so it isn't likely I will get one. But they are so pretty and handsome!

Looks a lot like the domestic long hairs that are not expensive at all here ...

Our beast (Firpo) is a domestic long hair. He has a sweet (verging on evil) temperament, and produces many, many hairballs.

I find I want far more furry friends than I can afford. Vet bills can destroy a budget. Sadly, there is no health insurance to help cover the cost of such care and we learned the hard way a household full of cats can suddenly become a household full of cats needing serious medical attention.

I'm just saying ...

There is actually "pet care insurance!" I saw a pamphlet for it at my vets.

There is also "dental insurance," which ... it seems to me ... costs about the amount you would pay a dentist without it.

Banfield pet hosptials at petsmart have wellcare plans and other plans to help cover stuff.... my girlfriends cat has been having intestinal problems and with the plan we're on it cuts the prices by almost a third

...as I can attest to!

I have not one, but two dental plans...and still pay through the teeth...pun intended!

When our dentist found out how much a vet charges for dental work, he said that he went into the wrong business!

Our vet always offers very expensive options for dealing with the tooth problems of an aging cat. We always select the least expensive option. The last time, the options were to pull a tooth for a few hundred dollars or wait to see if it just falls out on its own. And, it fell out on its own.

The worst, most expensive pet cost I paid for is 1100 dollars out of pocket. My first cat I had, was hit by a car and ended up having hip reconstruction surgery. It was a lot, but I had the money at the time. He was okay, but walked with a limp after. However, he eventually was caught by a "fisher" and I never saw him again.

I could not afford that bill now!

The cat does look delicious but there is no way that I'd spend hundreds of dollars on what will only amount to one or two meals.

I kinda miss Phay Wray, but they got her a good home down in TN, so...

I'm not allowed pets of any kind where I currently live, not even another guinea pig. And I don't have my roommate's pets to love on now either, now that I am moved.

That sure is a beautiful cat, what do they call those tufts of fur on the top of their ears? I wonder if they have a purpose?

My neighbors downstairs have a big dog, and he is pretty cool, he is starting to get to know me, I keep meaning to get some kibbles for him.

So I guess a 3200 dollar omelet in New York City is out?

I was in the hospital and it wouldn't surprise me to find out that the omelet that I had for breakfast yesterday is going to cost me or Medicare about $3200.

How 'bout a pretty Manx kitty? (No tail to get caught in the door....very handy trait!)

A while back out on the farm we had our "Do It Yourself" Manx. Idiot loved sitting next to chairs & one day the tail went under the rocking chair just as it went down! Vet said it'll fall off & it did, but Keo was ONE strange looking Siamese cat after that.

Funny thing is, I think he knew it was his fault, as he was just the same afterwards, kind & loving and didn't hold a grudge (except for the rocking chair.... he always seemed to have an "Accident" whenever he was on it! ).

Yeah, Mr. Stubbs is a very forgiving.

He steals my razors, hair & tooth brushes and spits 'em in the trash can!!

He's a "klepto-kitty"!! I had nothin' to do with his tail-less-ness!
Somehow, I believe he blames ME!!
