Re: [HSI] Where is the best place to put your Charter Wireless r

said by STLCompGuy:

that speed test was done at 1:30 in the morning.

I think my speed is 15 down....at least thats the speed I'm paying for....and at 7PM peak time I'm getting about 10 down(over wifi). I guess I'm happy with the speed.

You're only furthur proving you're an ID-10-T.

READ! That time is GMT, I did that speed test 30 seconds before the post! DURING PEAK TIME. During non peak I get 28.

I'm only paying $19.95/mo for this 15/3 plan, I was not required to use their modem. Working in the industry I work in I have plenty of cable and DSL modems and routers laying around. I have a Netgear N300 Gigabit router ready to go into action if the TP-LINK ever fails. I pick the TP-LINK for my primary router because it has external antennas which seem to greatly improve my signal.

I use a MagicJack on my connection to have a home phone and I have DirecTV HD for TV (WAAAAY more HD Channels than Charter!).

Lets see, Charter internet: $239.88/yr MagicJack Phone: $20/yr + DirecTV HD: $840/yr

That's $1,099.88/yr and you are paying $2,160/yr. Who's the ID-10-T?

Bundle's are gimmock designed to make it look like you're going to save money when you really save nothing.

It sounds like you're on a promo price anyway, if you're getting that for only $20/mo.

Well, extended promo, the local office just renew's it for me every 6 months. 30/4 would be $29.99 and 100/5 would be $59.99
