The gist: If you paid a termination fee to Hughes before December 6 of 2010 you can get $40 by filing a claim. If you terminated before March 2, 2012 and did not pay a termination fee prior to December 6 of 2010 you can get $5 by filing a claim. If you are a current subscriber you get nothing. If you are under contract and terminate now, the fee will be less than the full amount, and will be based on the number of months remaining. Hughes will do a number of things in terms of adding more wordy warnings to their advertisements about FAP and lack of speed guarantees. Hughes will have to continue their 1-free-per-month token program for the next 18 months (up until now it has been voluntary on their part, now it is mandatory) -- Motosat self-pointing dishes: 1.2-meter XF-3 on 127W, .74 meter G74 on 127W, SL-5 HD DirecTV|idirect 3100|Hughes HN7000S|Verizon UMW190 Air Card|1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge Bus "Blue Thunder"|Author of hnFAP-Alert, PC-OPI and DSSatTool |
