[Cable] Scarborough - Kennedy and the 401 issues

Anyone experiencing issues tonight?

I can ping sites like www.hotmail.com and dominos.ca, microsoft.com etc and resolve them in nslookup but when I surf to them both IE and Chrome are reporting they are not able to connect to these sites.

I have tried switching my DNS to OpenDNS and Level3 Network and get the same results. I have also tried it another computer same thing, plugged directly into the modem same deal.

... sigh

Same here. Around Finch and Warden.

Sites seem to work sometimes and not work others. I've been trying to access Monoprice but with no success. Been like this for the last couple hours or so.

Having the same issues here in Woodstock(just get back from alberta and my net goes for a crap...hah). But it looks from the traces on my end that packetflow is dropping the connection.

Various sites won't transfer off, some get stuck at packetflow, others get stuck on he.net But others will. Others are just really damned slow, like dslreports. Then the slowness clears up for a bit, and but other sites still won't connect.

I want to add that I can hit www.pizzahut.ca but I can't hit their order site, the connection is fubar that I see the order page but not all the data makes it across the internet so their flash or whatever they are using does not work.

kfc.ca times out, pizzapizza.ca times out, dominos.ca times out, microsoft.com times out, facebook does work and so does Costco.ca, but no of the dinner type sites seems to work... I guess I will have go out!

Everything seems intermittent at best. Mashing on the refresh button sometimes loads the page. I noticed quite a bit of packet loss while playing a game earlier and thought it was the server.

They seem to have fixed something as I am now able to get onto Kfc.ca with lightening speed and not time outs.

Same problem here. I've got DSL in Kitchener, on 184.175.1.155 right now, but a few others have been the same for the last day or so. Some sites are slow, some don't load at all, yet downforeveryoneorjustme.com, which itself is very slow to load, says they're up.

I'm having virtually the same problems in Carrying Place 2hrs from Toronto. My latency randomly spikes to 6x normal for minutes at a time plus most websites load really slow. I've got a 69. ip too...

i do not think it's limited to TSI. i tested with another pppoe connexion with another small ISP and some site do not load or load very slowly.

Vaughan DSL here and having the same problems as everyone else.

I was waiting nearly 45 minutes on the phone with TSI because my net was completely down only to be told by an automated message that they're having routing issues.

Time to hire some more call centre staff...

So let me get this straight Bender. You knew everyone was having issues, but you decided to call and clog the queue. You also whine that they need to hire more staff because they are having routing issues and receiving a higher than normal call volume.

Let me guess, if they hire more representatives and jack the prices to pay for them sitting around when the call volume isn't spiking, you will be complaining about the price increase?

I can't stand people like you.

I've been having issues for the past week where the connection would time out for a few minutes at a time mostly during the day. The lights on the modem don't change at all but I can't access the modem stats during that time. When I do get access I usually find one or two out of the four upstream channels showing ranging status aborted. There are usually no errors in the log that coincide with these events, except maybe this that I saw once:

3-Critical R07.0 Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response

A few times this happened I was able to get a working connection by releasing then renewing the connection from the router or by rebooting the modem but this only fixes it temporarily. I generally just wait it out.

There's definitely something going on because my connection has been flawless for the two years I had cable at this location and my modem stats are always excellent. I'm at Yonge & Davisville on the Dupont POI btw.

I'm hoping that this means we'll have a bump in upload speed very soon

Still kinda wonky with stuff not working and all that but I will say I've never seen pings as low as this while playing WoW or SC2. I can live with a 27ms ping in game.

McCowan/401 near STC, connection has been very flaky as well.

Some sites are acceptable, others just keep disconnecting. I can't even get to RFD properly. Even blogs.teksavvy.com isn't loading correctly, text only, no images at all.

And yet no mentions of this on TekSavvy's status site...
