 | Re: Reuse R-22? Yes, the reversing valve is a Ranco, and the solenoid part is functioning properly.
FWIW, the valve is still switching, but not completely.
When running as a heat pump, the valve leaks enough that the compressor shuts down after a short time (overheat sensor is tripped).
When running as an air conditioner, from the limited testing I have done so far, the compressor does not overheat, but the leak affects it enough to where the unit does not cool properly.
Thanks. |
Anon | If the valve is not fully changing positions, it can be a couple of things.
1) Contamination
2) Inadequate compressor output
3) Slide worn
(Have you figured out yet that I was the engineer that supported this design? It was a very good valve, wish I could claim the design work.)
My concern would be that all three of these possibilities suggest that the rest of the system is not worth saving. |
