Office Password Protected Files

Hello,

We have several files that are password protected for edit. These files can be excel, word, or power point. We have changed procedures and we are looking for something that would let us remove the MS Office password protection from all these files.

We do not have the password for all of the files, so what we do at the moment is to open the file, disable password protection, clear the password, and save a new copy of the file; then we move this file to the production folder.

Is there any way or any software that can strip the password protection?

Thanks

Normally I would not answer this question. but Google will give you a ton of hits on this kind of stuff.

Real company, real software and a real price.

How are you able to open the file if you haven't the password ?

Another source to consider - I have one of their packages (Passware Kit Pro) and it works well:

Definitely not free, but works as advertised. As noted by others, there are some good free tools specifically targeting various types of files also.

Well, i am looking more for one that can let me strip the password protection from several files at once.

We have too many files to do this one-by-one.

Thanks so far for the suggestions.
