Cable modem down in Etobicoke

Disconnected at 2:25am. Looked in my router admin and it said my lease only had 35 minutes left. I did a release/renew and it gave me a useless internal 192.168.100.10

Went downstairs to look at the modem and only the first 2 lights are solid, the 3rd called US is flashing and ONLINE is off.

Blah.

its a provider issue, not a modem issue
who is your ISP? did u try power cycling the device?

It's the TekSavvy forum...

And yes, I've tried power cycling multiple times.

Using my mobile data plan atm

Still down. The lights are all on now but it can't renew.

So what are we supposed to do now? Wait for an hour, a day, a week?

Well, I called it in. Im not sure if you can check your modem signal/log but the only change between yesterday and today is that I got "upgraded" from 4x1 to 4x4 bonded channels.

It likely means that Rogers split the node and now the DHCP pool is messed up. Similar issue that had people offline for weeks during november & december.

Seems to be resolved on my end now. Still 4x4 but it's working.

Not sure to be honest.. in my head it seems like it did because I remember a 1xx.xxx.xxx ip range but I have not really checked it recently. Right now it's in the 69.165.xxx.xxx range.

I've been up and down all day.

Modem restarted around 8AM, and it's been shitty since then.

In the past 10 minutes, I've gone down/up about 8 times.

Ugh...

Just lost connection at Bathurst and Eglinton. I was one of those unlucky ones who lost connection for almost a week last time. Hope this is not a repeat.

More nonsense today. Connection goes down and when I look at the modem the US light is flashing, then they all go off and light up from left to right, then right to left in a dazzling little light show. Then US flashes some more. Power cycling fixes it briefly then US starts flashing again.

This is rubbish service.

Yea mine went down again about an hour ago or so.

Frustrating as hell.

EDIT: I did managed to get it back up but by the logs, seems like whatever this is may be the issue:

These are the repeats in the log file of the modem, with order being bottom to top.

Happening again.

Noticed this from the signal page on my modem's WebGUI:

Channel ID 4 1 2 3
Frequency 38596000 Hz 31296000 Hz 25296000 Hz 22096000 Hz
Ranging Service ID 2228 2228 2228 2228
Symbol Rate 2.560 Msym/sec 2.560 Msym/sec 2.560 Msym/sec 2.560 Msym/sec
Power Level 40 dBmV 38 dBmV 37 dBmV 36 dBmV
Upstream Modulation [3] QPSK
[5] 16QAM
 [3] QPSK
[5] 16QAM
 [3] QPSK
[5] 16QAM

[5] 16QAM

Ranging Status T4 TimeOut Success Success Success

One of the bonded channels on the upload is timing out. Might be the cause of the issues; given that the problems experienced started occurring once switched from 4x1 to 4x4.

same here and same area, connections been going up/down a bunch today, and same thing 2 days ago

looks to me like Rogers is doing something, but i'm surprised they've taken to doing this stuff during daytime hours (in the past i've seen stuff like this between 2am and 5am)

No problems today, hopefully "they" are done with whatever they were doing.
