[FireFox] FF 12.0 tvnzb.com/tvnzb_new.rss - avast! blocked..

hXtp://www.tvnzb.com/tvnzb_new.rss

This is really annoying. Avast pops up like the attached pic a couple times an hour, seemingly randomly because it happens on various websites, NOT just on hXtp://www.tvnzb.com when I tried it to see what happens. I have never been to that site and avast doesn't even allow me to see it. I'm not subscribed to any RSS feeds and I have done several spyware sweeps (SUPERAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes, Spybot, Ad-Aware). Is this a false positive or for real? Oh, how do I stop it. LOL Thank you for your time.

Firefox 12.0
Avast! Home 7.0.1426
Win7 Premium Home
Adblock Plus 2.0.3
NoScript 2.4

Does NOT happen with IE or Chrome.

tvnzb.com shut down months ago and the site is nothing but a wretched hive of scum and villainy. (like Mos Eisley, but on the interwebs.) even if you do get avast to allow you to visit the site , you will wish you had not. try a different site :-D

Is there no end to this type of behavior? I nuked my sister's HDD because she opted to turn off Avast to stop those "annoying popups". A few weeks later I find that she disabled the firewall and AV I installed for her because "they kept blocking what she wanted to do."

Next time she calls me I am going to charge her $45.00 an hour for anything computer related.

Well, what I'd like to know is WHY is avast popping up for that when I'm NOT knowingly going to it. Has my Firefox been compromised and some trojan is STEALTHILY making FF go to tvnz, a hijacking? I am NOT going to that site, yet avast warns me about it.

Okay, thanks dolphins. I'm actually with avast! tech right now. Will go to Security if problem not resolved. Weird nobody else has posted about it, anywhere.

Sounds like you may have a malicious BHO (browser helper object)? That would not be an AV false positive or hiccup but a more generalized infection. So technically you're asking the wrong question in the wrong forum or in layman's terms, you're barking up the wrong tree, Sparky.
