[HN7000S] I'v seen enough..

people complaining about service being crummier ever before and my allowance problem with FAP is still not fixed. I have been cool, calm and even patient (possibly way more then you guys) but i have seen enough, this is just about as bad as our old dial up connection we use to have but now only my neighbor/uncle has it and it takes over 2 weeks now to download an update the size of 700mb for a TomTom but if we update it through our hughesnet it takes 40 minutes.

I'v been out mowing all day and relaxing out in the sun afterwards, brother was out a good bit of the time also and my mother is still snoozing. My computer and my brothers was shut down and the allowance still drops faster than dropping for instance a hard drive on the floor?? its ridiculous, someone really needs to pick up the passe here and quick. Nothings being downloaded just monitored.

How do you monitor it with the computers off?

You mean how much data is being downloaded? I just disconnect mine normally (to be absolute sure no data is being recieved) or do you mean the amount of allowance reaming? By using my mobile device called ipod touch.. It does not have any viruses or trojans on it so that is fine there, and how i monitor the allowance with it is by opening up safari and opening the adress 192.168.0.1 then tap of download allowance then your there.

So that means you have a wireless router.

The only way to determine if they are actually draining data when it should not is to note the allowance remaining, then turn EVERYTHING off for a few hours, then back on and check immediately. As long as you have a device connected you can't be sure the culprit isn't on your end. The touch can use bandwidth too, you know.

I think i'm going to put this on hold for now Don, I just now checked into a website that shows me when someone has been downloading or any at all.. The link address is: »customercare.myhughesnet.com/act_usage.cfm

I toke a look back to when we last had FAP active and indeed it was, someone had consumed 200mbs worth of bandwidth. What on? i'm not sure but this gave me a good idea.. I'm now searching for a program such as netflow, something that monitors what everyones doing with the bandwidth and does'nt required to be installed on every computer. Would appreciate it if someone can give me a good answer, thanks

You might want to use Networx "http://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/manual/?lang=English"
