 | ...and what is it that I cannot read, pray tell?
Between your inability to use proper English and your confusion about the features of the game you're commenting on (there is no "heroics" in SWTOR) I do admit I had to make a good measure of interpretation but that's hardly my fault now is it? |

Anyway what bigred is talking about is the heroic +2s and +4s. While this and issue to a point imagine if you qued for a specific heroic on balmora, I think there's about 8 of them, it would be worse. The way it is you que and quest on whatever planet and when you get a group if you don't have the quest for the one you got asked someone to share the quest. LFG still has some issues but its a good start. There will be some level ranges that have longer wait times than others and dps will have longer waits than tanks and healers but it is a step in the right direction. The biggest thing that would make group finder better is if more people would start using it. |

I mean I have done every quest and bonus series and that tends to make you overleveled for a planet so you can't even q up for the planet. |

Pryck join:2012-02-03 Fredericksburg, VA | reply to jofos I tried the new LFG tool last night and the wait time wasn't too bad for dps; I think I waited 20 minutes or so. Group performed well and folks were helpful to those of us who hadn't been in very many HM's so the entire experience was fun. I do realize there will be bad experiences as well that always goes along with this sort of thing but it's a step in the right direction I think. |

 | reply to jofos Yeah I am a little disappointed with the LFG tool as well. The only other real MMORPG I have much experience with is World of Warcraft. At least their LFG tool lets me not only queue for a instance in a zone (think planet in this game), but I have check boxes to queue for a specific one. It should not have been too hard for Bioware to make the LFG tool in such a manner that if I am on Balmorra lets say, I can not only queue for a group, but use a check box to specifically pick the Heroic +4, Heroic +2, etc that I am looking for.
I can understand the locking out past a certain level thing. If I didnt go to Balmorra first on my chain of story and I get there at level 25 to start out, it wont be much fun for me to run a lvl 18 quest with a bunch of lvl 18s and here I am at lvl 28. The XP and other things would be affected drastically. (And let me say, as someone who knows a bit about coding and applications, its easy to say...well make it so it matches and groups based on level. But incredibly hard and complex to actually code that in). |

| reply to footballdude said by footballdude:Dropped it. After getting one character to 50 and being bored out of my mind waiting for FP groups to form, I couldn't stomache leveling another character. I tried but bailed around level 35. Some of the later planets you level on have so much wasted travel time between mission areas you feel like you're just sight seeing instead of playing. That's why I quit. Effing traveling 1000 light years to do a mission....... |

Shatter join:2006-07-24 Waterford, MI | reply to jofos Travel time is the worst part of the game for me. Doing 1 quest you spend signifigantly more time traveling around then doing the quest and this is pretty much every quest. Ive leveled 4 characters to 50 now and dont think I can do another just due to this. They also need to hand out speeders at level 1 or 5 or something, not level 25 for your first. |

Pryck join:2012-02-03 Fredericksburg, VA | The only other MMO I have played to compare to is WoW and it was the same way for questing prior to dailies and the quest hubs they have now and walking around until level 40 was fun and hoping you could even have the gold to purchase it at level was even more fun. To each their own but it really didn't detract from my game play experience to make me detest playing entirely. |
|
 | reply to Shatter They have tried to address all these issues, you can now get a mount at lvl 10, you can get a bonus 30% to pvp, exploration, questing or space mission experience so you can level the way you want rather than having to do teadius quests over and over. Still having fun although nearly through all content with 2 chars so more content would be good(and is on its way). it had a rough start but i think a good game over all. |

Pryck join:2012-02-03 Fredericksburg, VA | reply to jofos Did they make a change along with the LFG add in 1.3 that configures gear drops according to your group makeup? I took a month or so off from playing waiting on 1.3 to drop so I have been running FP's last week or so and in almost every run I have gotten a piece of gear, so I went from no tier pieces to full Columi and a Rakata chest in about a week or so and not running them everyday. Just curious or am I just REALLY lucky.....has anyone else had this experience with the new patch? |

Meet Quiklik | ... related to this guy? I think so. |
Got in now with the free-to-play option.
First character I started with was Jedi Knight... which I fully intend on running as a Sentinel (twin lightsabers, oh baby! ). And yes, the in-game RNG gave me that oh so suggestive name, so I had to stick with it.
Easily, one of the things ToR aces is presentation. Helps being able to flat out turn off chat and auto-ignoring much of the stuff that would be a common nuisance in muhmorpugers... Admittedly still have the mindset that this should have been work put toward a proper KoTOR 3 to finish the various story arcs left behind by 1&2.
From beta, definitely seem to have noticed that some missions are much easier if you take on some others first... The first Heroic one on Tython was a royal pain until I was able to keep T7 full time. Thus far, I only wished that I had a little more involvement in the crafting of my lightsaber when I got to that point... and now that I'm a sentinel, hoping I can hurry up and grab another. -- Because, f*ck Sony |

And a few more pics.
The Heroic ones tick me off, because it seems like they are trying to require me to get a bunch of people for them. Also wish I could just filter out the ones that practically say right away "GROUP REQUIRED". I get there's a social aspect to MMO games, but why not let me decide if/when I want to, or if I just don't?
Still, nearing my level limit for this character. Guess I should think about rolling another. -- Because, f*ck Sony |

BigReds42Premium join:2004-07-14 Bellaire, OH kudos:1 | The thing is EVERYTHING but the FPs and Heroics are soloable... that's part of the problem with the game. |
|
C0deZer0Oc'D To Rhythm And PolicePremium join:2001-10-03 Tempe, AZ | You might see it as a problem. What I see is grouping should be OPTIONAL... full stop.
Borderlands provided a very simple way of handling this problem. Bigger groups meant tougher enemies, but also better chance for quality gear, sooner. And it adjusted on the fly as people joined or left. Yet why can't an MMO do this?
The storytelling has been a high point of this game, because I have played to keep other people from screwing it up for me. How can being able to immerse yourself in what's going on be considered a bad thing? -- Because, f*ck Sony |

KoilPremium join:2002-09-10 Irmo, SC kudos:1 | reply to jofos Not to thread crap or whatever, but I just can not even get close to being excited about this game. Maybe its lingering bad tastes from SW:G, and now looking at those pics kinda confirms it....this just doesn't look like real polished effort at all.
Not knocking your rig or the character design, but the sunglasses thing? I mean..ok, I guess, but then you go the homer walking around behind you with his sabers on, in the holster....cutting his droids arm off apparently.
I dunno...SW:G also felt like they were trying to do too much and it became a chore to do any one thing well....that UI setup reminds me of it. Glad to say I never got this, as it doesn't look like a proper SW mmo is possible....I don't know what it should be like, but that just doesn't seem to be it. -- I am only one, but I am one.
