Cable will *never* be able to compete with fios due to HFC limitations. D3 maxed out at 8/4 is 320mbps down and 120mbps up and hundreds of people on a node whereas fios is like 2gigs down and 622mbps up with a max of 32 people/node

there are several problems with your *never* statement

the first is the claim that "D3 is maxed out at 8/4"... The D3 specification has no restriction on the number of channels you can bond.

OK i should have said with currently available modems since the modems only have two tuners.

a 3Ghz plant sounds like an expensive upgrade

I believe that is what I wrote......FIOS is focusing on growth in established areas (gaining customers in areas already wired) and not on expanding their service area.

What speeds to you get if you run a true speed test and not a capacity test?

Same speed he pays for, just because of upstream bonding, and the higher powerboost speeds. Doesn't mean he is getting faster true download speeds. Your modem will still be limited by the speed config file cox pushes to your modem, for the tier of service you pay for.

Downtown/central phoenix here with premier service.
According to my logs...
I was getting 4 down, 1 up.
At 2012-05-01 12:48 AM my modem stopped responding. I restarted it at 2012-05-01 01:23 AM and I was bonding 8 down, 3 up.

Since then I have noticed significantly slower speeds.
I was getting 27Mbps down and 12Mbps up from single servers.
Now I am regularly getting only 8Mbps down and 3Mbps up.
If I do something with multiple connection such as torrenting, I get 20Mbps down and 10Mbps up.

Overall, the extra channels are horrible for me.

My SB 6120 is currently running 4/2. I didn't even realize it until I saw the 2nd blue light on my modem.

8 down/3 up in downtown Phoenix (85006). I'm still hoping they raise the upload cap above 5 mbps.

Wooo Hooo!!!

On a whim I power cycled my modem this morning and low and behold I have 8/3 !!!

Ran a couple speed tests for various sites, on average I'm getting approximately 20/15 Mbs

Zip code: 85281

The closer we get to symmetrical speeds, the happier I get

Rebooted modem this morning and now getting 4/3 (only have a 4 down modem) in 85304 - wonder why it's 3 and not 4?

Eh whatever I'm happy.

Well, when I got home last night I reset my modem and sure enough I started bonding to 3 upstream channels. I doubt I will notice anything since my UL speeds and service never slowed down. I was already bonding to 8 channels DS. 85297

I haven't looked for a while so I took a gander... still 8/1 here. Cox business connection though.

Connection has been solid as a rock though for months now. figured I might see some squirrely stuff with the Heat, but so far none.

I did move all of my servers offsite to a data center though... Cost of cooling was killing me here at the house. Turned off the Servers last Sunday at 8pm.... next electric bill will be less rather than more.

Was 4 and 3 for a short time but back to 4 and 2
Will the SB6120 get 4 and 4 if available?
