We had one manufacturer that was paying us $1500/month to just run ping tests between their AP and one CPE. I felt really guilty about taking their money, but unfortunately the testing stopped:(.

Yeah, I couldn't help but keep thinking about the irony in a site having such a poorly implemented backup plan leading to a multi-week outage, when the main purpose of the site seems to be criticizing other internet companies for their shortcomings... Seems like a bit of a double-standard, but I'm just glad they are making progress getting stuff restored.

Chele join:2003-07-23 kudos:1	reply to jcremin I think it was the Sunday after the site went down, the fellow in charge(and he made it seem as if there was only one person) mentioned something about his son's 6th birthday. To me, it came through as if he was having to choose between working on the system or attend the little boy's party. At that time I thought to myself, to hell with it, it will be up when it's good and ready. Let the guy have a life!
