Me neither - I hate autoupdate programs that run in the background - much prefer a manual 'check for updates' option in the program I'm using.

Frankly I don't trust any of them these days. Who knows what info they collect or what backdoors they expose. Unfortunately almost everyone installs them without asking

JRE v6 u32's updater? Is it me or did v6 u32 remove its updater? Or am I blind? I am using both 32-bit and 64-bit Java in 64-bit W7 HPE. |

I can duplicate that if you are referring to the missing update "tab" in the java console. This is V7 U4 and the machine is winxp sp3..in all cases in the advanced I had previous version set to "never auto-download". I did this update by first downloading the jre-7u4-windows-i586.exe file from hippo and then installing the java update off line.
