It says in the release notes that scans will be faster and seems that they are:

You're welcome.
Now a full scan would be a better test, but I did one recently so I don't really want to again.
FWIW, This was using the free version on a C2D 2.53Ghz / 4GB RAM running a Maxtor 7Y250M0 MaXLine Plus II 250GB SATA as drive C: that is about 1/4 full and on Win7 x64
