Re: [FiOS] Latency said by wilhelm :Would "upgrading" to business class service give me better latencies over residential services? Doubtful, I actually had Frontier come out to my house in Washougal. He specifically said that the "washougal bridge head" needed to be upgraded to like what they have in Camas. He said if I lived in Camas, I would NOT have the latency issues that I've had.
Here is how it breaks down, and for WHATEVER reason between noon and 11:59PM the internet is GREAT. Low pings. Just after midnight, things go to crud (except this last week it was ok, until we hit a 17 hour and counting outage). I've been pinging 50.53.172.1 every day, 20 pings each, every 5 minutes for the last 5 weeks and here is what I got:

I'm pretty fed up with this stuff... because in the morning, Skype, Vonage, AT&T 3G Microcell, Teamspeak and Video conferencing all go to crud.... It'd be one thing if it was a consistent ping, but it could be 160ms on average with an 80ms stand dev.
I don't know, anyone else have thoughts ... besides crying because you're going to end up switching to comcast.... |
