I have both an AT&T iPhone and a Verizon iPad. Here, AT&T HSPA+ is working fine. Verizon's 3G, however, is pretty slow. Neither have LTE in our Los Angeles suburb yet. Verizon needs LTE a lot more than AT&T does, at least in my neck of the woods.

That's been my view as well, Verizon's 3G (EVDO) is 1.2 -1.5Mbps Max if I'm not mistaken, but AT&T's 3G (UMTS/HSPA) seems to normally be much faster about 3Mbps on average for me (In my area which is a collage town) and has the potential to be a lot faster.

I have the LTE iPad, just no LTE service to go with it. Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe how badly Verizon's 3G network performs around here. It's no wonder they're rushing to deploy LTE as fast as they are.
