AT&T - Whole family can't make/receive calls or texts

My family's 4 phone can't make or receive calls or texts while usually showing full service. On occasion we are all getting the no service sign. Located in GA south of Atlanta. There are short windows of time we can all make and receive calls and texts. It usually happens when we are at home, but has happened when we were an hour away. According to AT&T new towers were put in on 3/27. They said they opened a ticket and escalated to Tier 2. This started on 3/31 and continues to date. Could this be a tower issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Go into an ATT store and see if the phones work there. If they do, but across the parking lot they don't, demonstrate that to the rep. Or call ATT

If it happens in multiple locations that are more than an hour travel time apart, it would be highly unlikely to be a single tower problem. It is however possible that there is a tower problem for your home location and other problems in other locations.

Does "4 phone" mean that this is happening with 4 different phones, or is "4 phone" an acronym for a single specific phone model? If it is happening to 4 different phones (unless they are all the same brand/model and there is a firmware or other problem with that particular model of phone), then there is obviously a problem with your AT&T connection, but that does not necessarily mean a tower problem per se.

FWIW, I live in a fairly dense urban area only a few hundred yards from the main entrance to a large university campus, but I have to use a cell repeater with an external mast mounted antenna in order to get service in my home/office (the kind of setup that is more typically seen in rural areas, far from a tower). Without that repeater, my symptoms at home are similar to yours. The tower and my phones are functioning properly, the problem is just that I am in a dead zone.

Thanks, Beck. I'll stop at the local store. I did call this morning and he said some people have been coming in with the same problem, but wasn't aware if there was a network issue. He said he changed SIM cards out and did some other troubleshooting for them.

Thanks, Netfixer. Sorry, it should have been 4 phones--meaning 4 different phones. I did finally get someone at AT&T this morning who said there was a note the alarms were going off at the tower indicating there is some problem with an estimated restoration time 4/6! You're right, it definitely seems like there's an issue with our connection. Once we power cycle our phones, they are fine for 5 minutes, then back to no service. Hopefully, we won't need a cell repeater (I've never heard of that) since we haven't in the past. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the help.

We have the same problem here in Moore, OK. None of our 3 different phones work at home; we have to drive 3 miles to get any service. No phone calls or texts received or sent are available at home. FOR DAYS. this is the second time this year, I figured once okay, they said there was an outage so ok, BUT now it's again doing the same. NO service. I am done with AT&T...my daughter's were trying to get a hold of me at school and cld not text or call me. Ridiculous !!

I've had ONLY att since cell phones were invented, never a prob, but 2 times 3-4 days at a time in a few months is stupid. All our phones are different so it's not our phones.
