Re: [iPad] cases for iPad 3rd gen

If you do order from otterbox's website, here is a coupon code to save you a couple of dollars:
5% off $50+, 10% off $75+, 15% off $100+ Orders
Coupon Code: AM2012. Expires: Mar 31

Thanks basit! With the discount, Otterbox.com has the lowest price on the Defender of all the reputable dealers online. Best Buy actually charges $10 ABOVE list, the rapscallions! 'Course, even at the discounted price it was still a lot of bucks to shell out but I figure if I'm gonna keep using my new iPad outdoors as a camera in the city, best be prepared for that inevitable pavement meet up... Yesterday I found it was kinda hard to hold onto the little dickens in a strong wind.

One thing I don't get about the otterbox cases...

Why do they have to have a hole for the Apple logo on the back?

Kind of defeats the purpose of such a strong case, if it happens to land on something protruding in that particular spot...

I agree, but I think Otterbox may have decided to "play the odds" to add a little style to the case.

Given how the case is designed, what are the odds that something would hit that *one* spot with enough force to do damage? I would think unless you're using the iPad to block a direct strike from a pole or sword that you're okay and if something does hit that spot, well...

Because otherwise one's precious iPad could be mistaken for a Zoom, in that otherwise ungainly case? Think I might design a plug for mine when it gets here— with the Apple logo on it, naturalment.
