said by drew:I just changed my OS to AA/Atonement. It's pretty awesome...it reminds me of a ranged version of the Grace specc'ed Warrior Priest I had in Warhammer Online. Pew pew hard as fuck, and a pleasant by product is pretty sweet heals. (Obviously it's more complicated than that in reality, but it's the basic idea.)
I'll just leave this here:
Why couldn't blizzard have made druid healing specs like atonement healing?
That is easily the most amazing healing experience I've had so far in this game. I'll play my druid for the rest of my WoW career since... it's my druid but... Blizzard did AMAZING with Atonement healing. It's SO much more interesting.
Also, shadow is pretty good as well. Rotation isn't super complex, but it isn't the retarded eclipse mechanic.
I did a few bosses in LFR at the end of this past week to check it out, and I was doing 13-15k DPS (above the tanks and 1 or 2 shit for brains DPS classes) and 15-18k HPS, which was usually good enough for 2nd or 3rd...sometimes even top heals. This was with absolutely no healing addons, my threatplates set for DPS, and my raid frames with a very minimal set up (DPS style). I did take the time to look up a macro that would autotarget the closest enemy whenever I used Smite or Holy Fire, and up until about the 3rd fight I didn't even have the tank as my focus. I was simply Holy Firing and Smiting as hard as I could.
With minimal effort, and some UI changes, the spec could be probably more fun than anything I've played in a long time (outside of Enh Shaman), it could also be a suprisingly effective way to heal...especially on encounters like H Morchok, H Ultraxion, and H Spine.
TL;DR: I like it, it is fun.
