WOW now has the following download speeds

2,15,30,50

They no longer offer the 8. It isn't obsolete, 8 is still a decent connection if you don't need the bandwidth.

All that matters is if you think it is fast enough. If it isn't go higher. If you are fine with it keep it.

However, alot of people said they have been able to get free upgrades from 8 to 15 by calling in.
